This delicious one-pan Ground Turkey Recipe is made with green beans, onions, garlic and tomato sauce. Recipe is definitely an easy-to-make and tasty meal for your family dinner.

Today, I’m sharing one more ground turkey recipe because, as you may know, I love ground turkey recipes. I make them all the time and especially when I want to make something quick and simple. These are my favorites: Easy Ground Turkey Stuffed Peppers, Ground Turkey Sweet Potato Stuffed Peppers, Ground Turkey Sweet Potato Skillet, and Ground Turkey Pasta Soup.

This ground turkey skillet with green beans recipe is so simple to make that I even considered not posting it because I was a little embarrassed at how easy it is. This Ground Turkey Recipe is SOOOO easy that even your 7-year-old kids can make it. I am not kidding at all! It’s even easier than my Ground Turkey White Bean Kale Soup.

Weather specialists say that this fall and winter will be warmer than last year, which excites me because last winter was REALLY cold. So, we enjoyed this nice long weekend at my parents-in-law’s cottage close to Montreal, and it was a much needed 3-day vacation.

I’ve been working a lot and to be honest I feel so tired. The time away allowed me to relax, sleep, eat good food, chat, and enjoy being with my niece and nephew.

I wish we lived closer to my in-laws because being around family is the best thing we can wish for. I only realized that when I moved to Canada while the rest of my family stayed in Brazil. Family is everything. Family is where you feel safe, strong, and loved. 😉

Ground Turkey Recipes

We also went to Pierre’s cousin’s wedding, which was so lovely and very emotional. The rest of the family was there, and we had lots of fun dancing and being in the photo booth. My husband, Pierre, is really a party animal. He danced a lot, and all his aunts wanted to dance with him… Hahhahaha. He even danced with the kids. So funny! I wish he would allow me to post the videos I made of him dancing like crazy in this post. I didn’t even try to convince him because I knew he would say something like, “Are you kidding me, right?!” Hahahha!

Back to the post. For this recipe, I used extra-lean ground turkey, green beans, and a delicious, flavorful homemade tomato sauce, which makes all the difference in this dish. This recipe is also really good to freeze for another day. Enjoy!

What is a good seasoning for ground turkey?

Seasoning ground turkey is very important to avoid making a dish without flavor. Luckily, ground turkey goes well with almost all spices and herbs.

My favourite spices to add to ground turkey recipes are cumin, seasoned salt, Italian seasoning, paprika, chili powder, black pepper, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and thyme. For this Ground Turkey Skillet with Green Beans recipe, I used only salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper because the tomato sauce has lots of flavour already. But you can add any spices you want to make this recipe great for your taste.

How do you know when ground turkey is cooked?

You should avoid cooking ground turkey for too long because it may become very dry. You’ll know when the ground turkey is cooked thoroughly when it turns white with no pink color.

Can you use ground beef instead?

Absolutely! Just keep in mind that lean ground turkey per ounce is lower in calories and saturated fat than ground beef. But this recipe will be good with either ground turkey or ground beef.

Looks yum! I am making this tonight! Was wondering what you’d suggest for a non-homemade tomato sauce? Pasta sauce?

    1. Olivia Ribas says:

Yes, pasta sauce works well 😉

      1. Tasha Peck says:

        canned tomato sauce or no??

        1. Olivia Ribas says:

Yes, you can use canned tomato sauce 😉

  2. Henry Mackenroth says:

Not caring for the peppers, I think that an equivalent amount of whole kernel corn and sun dried tomatoes would go well. Am I on the right track here?

    1. Olivia Ribas says:

      Yes, for sure 😉

  7. PATRICIA IWANICKI says:

I made this tonight for dinner. My husband and I are trying to eat healthy. We really enjoyed it. I was nervous at first because it was my first time making it and I didn’t know if he would like it. But he liked it so much he had seconds. It was a hit. I used fresh green beans too. Loved it!

  8. katherines corner says:

yummm you inspired my chicken and green beans. I posted on Tuesday. Hugs!

  9. Amanda Porcelli says:

How long do you leave this on the stove? Mine has been on the stove what seems like forever without the green beans cooking/getting softer. I wish I would have cooked the green beans seperately. We shall see…!

    1. Amanda Porcelli says:

Update! I honestly had low expectations for this dish just because my green beans were taking notes a while to cook. My view has completely changed as it’s finally done and it’s delicious! All in all it took about 30 minutes to get my beans a little softer, I think I would roast them separately next time, but this is still very very good. Best dish with ground turkey I’ve tried. Yumm!

    2. Madelyn says:

Any ideas for a different sauce? My son is allergic to tomatoes!

      1. Madelyn says:

And not sure how I ended up commenting as a reply to someone! 🤔 oops!

      2. Olivia Ribas says:

You can add pesto or even a little bit of alfredo sauce.

  10. Lisa says:

Would this be good over rice?

    1. Olivia Ribas says:

Yes, it works really good with rice. I ate it with rice few times and it was really good!

  11. Ily says:

Do I leave it on medium heat the whole time? Or simmer?

    1. Olivia Ribas says:

      Medium Heat the whole time.

  12. Mariposa722 says:

Tried it – loved it. I had a side of couscous and squash. It was great. Family approved.

    1. Olivia Ribas says:

      That’s awesome!

  13. Ashley says:

Hello there, what kind of yellow pepper are you referring to? A yellow bell pepper or pepperoncini peppers?

    1. Ily says:

      Yellow bell pepper

  14. Joe says:

Can this be prepared in a slow cooker?

    1. Olivia Ribas says:

I’m sorry I can’t answer your question because I’ve never made it in a slow cooker.

  15. Erin says:

I made this a few weeks ago trying to find a new recipe to use some ground turkey. My 5 year old has asked for it some many time since then I had to buy more ground turkey! I made a quick version of my husband’s homemade spaghetti sauce and it turned out great! Cut back on the red pepper for the little mouths that don’t like spicy foods. Slated for dinner tonight!
    Thanks!

  16. Katelyn says:
